    Community Involvement

Kinerk Law Offices is truly a local law firm, as both Burt and Colleen Kinerk are native Tucsonans with deep roots in Southern Arizona. Active outreach and service in the local community are core to their shared values, evinced by their substantial record of community involvement.

Among the several community honors Burt has received include induction into the Tucson High Badger Foundation, Sigma Chi Foundation, and Pima County Sports Halls of Fame. He has been awarded Tucson Chamber of Commerce’s Man of the Year, Father's Day Council Tucson’s Father of the Year, Tucson Legal Secretaries’ Boss of the Year, and University of Arizona’s C.A.T.S. Silver Anniversary Award, and was named one of the Top 100 Tucson Sports Figures of the Century by the Arizona Daily Star.

Burt has served with numerous local altruistic organizations, including as former President of the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson and the Kino Learning Center, and on the Executive Boards for the University of Arizona Foundation, University of Arizona Law College Association, Arizona’s Finest Lawyers, Carondelet Neurological Institute, and Bank of Tucson. Burt’s involvement in regional sports is extensive, as a longstanding member of the U.S. Olympic Committee for the State of Arizona, Tucson Conquistadores, Pima County Fair Horse Racing Commission, and the University of Arizona President's Club, and having held several positions with the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s Southern Arizona Chapter.

Colleen’s community involvement includes serving as a member of the Executive Boards of the Casa De Los Ninos Foundation and the Tucson Community School.  She has also enjoyed being a past member of National Charity League and Angel Charity for Children, as well as donating her time to the Whitman-Walker Health Clinic, Project Open Hand, St. Cyril of Alexandria School and the Pima County Bar Association Law Day.  Colleen has recently joined Step Up For Justice and looks forward to participating in their future legal clinics.
